Hardware
The WL-8000VPN uses the Texas Instruments TNETW1130 Wireless Chipset in a Mini-PCI slot. Processor is an Samsung ARM S3C2510A01, SDRAM is a 8 MB G-Link GLT5640L16-6TC, 2MB Flash. Unidentified cips: AM29LV1600B-90EC, Dl1005 0352SH13 FDF0484.11, 50PT1051AX 0330S. No obvious internal interfaces.
Alternative Firmwares
There is no obvious way to change the firmware. Maybe via the update function?
