Q: Why does VMware Server not autostart a VM?

$ tail -n 4 /var/log/vmware/vmware-serverd.log
Jan 01 00:00:00: app| Attempting to launch vmx : /vmware/Virtual Machines/foobar/foobar.vmx
Jan 01 00:00:00: app| Error during launch: 11, The process exited with an error:

Jan 01 00:00:00: app| VmsdVmStatePendingCmdFailed: cmd status is already set 

A: Have a look at the latest log file below /tmp/vmware-<username>/ and check if you have to set correct modes to ~<username>/.vmware
